Mathtype 6.96/1/2023 Allows users to write math equations, and insert them into various word documents or web pages. The program facilitates the creation of equations, useful if the users have to create several at a time before a deadline, or even for a presentation which the program offers several tools towards that use. MathType would primarily benefit users in an academic field, such as professors and instructors. The program even allows users to handwrite formulas, which in turn it incorporates as a typed out formula that can be inserted into a Word Document or different output. MathType solves and remedies this problem, and offers various features to specialize and change the appearance of the equations and formulas to better suit the user. Creating web pages and Google documents are such interfaces, that most users would have difficulty incorporating the correct and necessary equations into them. Typically, many of these types of interfaces have limited and difficult to use tools to create math equations. MathType gives users various tools and features for them to incorporate math equations and other types of formulas in a variety of compatible interfaces. Detects if Microsoft Word is installed, and creates an interface ribbon in the Word Program for easier access.Export created formulas into pdf and wmf files.Export created formulas into images files, such as.Change the font and style of the equations, and offers support for LaTex.Allows users to handwrite equations and formulas, and insert them as professional and typed out equations.Create, insert, and edit math equations in Word Documents, Google Docs, presentations, and many more compatible interfaces. In addition, MathType allows users to easily create chemistry formulas, a benefit not offered by Microsoft Office programs. Many Microsoft Office Programs offer similar tools for math equations, but it is not as extensive or easy to utilize as MathType. The other rather civilized aspect is that you can make slides using the trial version, and they will still work even after the trial expires, as the application makes its fonts available to the system.MathType for Windows primarily focuses on allowing users to create and write various and specific types of math equations. Compatibility with 800+ applications and websites: Google Presentations, Connexions, Desire2Learn, Stack Exchange, and 73+ other applications and websites join Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, Adobe InDesign, and hundreds of others that work with. (You don't need to use LaTex or any other markup language.) It is reasonably feature-rich (I gave 4 stars due to lack of iOS compatibility). Office 32- and 64-bit: MathType 6.9 is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit versions of Office. If you don't need iOS compatibility, and don't mind being chained to the paid upgrade cycles, the software performs well, and the ease of use (which I gave 5 stars) is its strongest point. (TexFog is a handy free app that makes this easy). I just typeset the equation, compile a PDF, and then cut and paste. I'm now making all new slides using LaTex. I tried manually installing all the fonts, and converting their non-truetype fonts into truetype first, and then installing these on my iPad using AnyFont.app. One thing that would make upgrading worth the additional fee would be Keynote iPad compatibility. I basically need this only for editing slides in Keynote that contain mathematical expressions. They kept all of this, including the need to pay for an incremental upgrade, well hidden at the time of purchase. The upgrade to 6.7e (as opposed to 6.9 for windows users) involves a hefty upgrade fee. What I did not appreciate at the time is that I had bought a non-universal application with no upgrade path to intel macs (which appeared 4 years previously) that depended on Rosetta (which no longer exists in 10.9, 10.8, or 10.7).
